As Managing Partner of MAXWELL+Partners, Michael Maxwell is nationally recognized for achievements as a real estate developer, advisor and educator. His 35 years of experience investing, repositioning and developing nearly three million square feet valued at nearly $1 billion in Florida and the Americas has earned him international respect as a specialist in urban mixed-use real estate development and redevelopment. His in-depth and broad investment and development experience includes the visionary Beacon Center, corporate and medical offices, retail, residential and mixed-use projects, and resort and hospitality destinations.
Michael Maxwell is Managing Partner of MAXWELL+Partners, which he established in 1991. He is nationally recognized for achievements as a real estate investor, developer, advisor and educator. His career was built on a foundation of successful investments, innovative developments, market leading ideas and mentoring the industry’s next generation of young leaders. He is internationally sought as a specialist in urban real estate and redevelopment.
Maxwell has spent 35-years investing, repositioning and developing nearly 3 million square feet valued at nearly $1 billion in Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America. His extensive experience focuses on urban real estate and mixed-use development including office, residential, industrial and retail projects and resort and hospitality destinations.
As an advisor, he engaged by investors, lenders and governments to resolve complex problems and craft solutions for arising from failure or economic change. He is an expert witness, and trustee to legal counsel, creditors and entities in bankruptcy for which he implements and executes successful strategies that recover value, restructure, resolve or liquidate distressed or bankrupt assets.
Maxwell’s work is honored with major awards for innovative industrial buildings, unique historic preservation, and regenerative urban redevelopment projects. He was honored by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in October 2011 with its national Robert M. O’Donnell award, and was appointed as a Distinguished Fellow to NAIOP, the national commercial real estate organization.
Previously, Maxwell served as Vice President of Codina Development Corporation where he was responsible for the visionary Beacon Center, a $400 million, 205-acre Business Park comprised of Class A Logistics/Office & retail products. Beacon Center received numerous honors and awards and is a ULI Case Study.
Maxwell holds a Masters of Planning from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA with a focus in Real Estate Development & City Planning. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where he majored in City Planning and Architecture. Maxwell was Interim Director/ Professor of Nova Southeastern University’s Master of Real Estate Development Program, Huizenga School of Business, from 2010 to 2014.
He is an active Full Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves on the SE Florida/Caribbean District Council Advisory Board. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). In 2011 he was appointed by NAIOP as a Distinguished Fellow. He holds the American Institute of Certified Planners AICP designation. Maxwell is a Florida licensed real estate broker.

Eduardo Vera spearheads financial analysis at MAXWELL+Partners. In this capacity, he prepares extensive financial and analytics recommendations for real estate developments and investments, generates complex cash flow projections and is responsible for securing capital financing and investors for development and acquisition projects. His specialty is identifying and developing urban and suburban infill opportunities.
Eduardo Vera brings extensive investment and money management experience to MAXWELL+Partners as the firm’s financial analyst. In this capacity, he prepares extensive financial and analytics recommendations for real estate developments and investments. Vera generates complex cash flow projections and is responsible for securing capital financing and investors for development and acquisition projects. His specialty is identifying and developing urban and suburban infill opportunities.
Eduardo Vera is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and has participated in US real estate investment since 2007. Previously, Vera served as Investment Manager for Real Assets Capital Partners in Miami, FL, a real estate investment company that he founded in 2009. Vera consulted on real estate development projects in South Florida Central and South America and provided financing strategies and solutions. He supervised the investment portfolio for the firm and was responsible for securing investment acquisitions and for optimizing acquired properties through renovation or construction.
Mr. Vera has a 10 year history as a successful entrepreneur developing branded retail companies. In 2004, Vera was Finance and Operations Manager and then President of La Sazon, a Caracas, Venezuela-based high-end kitchen supply store. Vera was responsible for acquisition, design and construction of commercial and corporate facilities. He also supervised the company’s acquisition in 2009 for a 127% profit for shareholders.
Vera is an associate member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He holds his Florida Real Estate Sales Associates License. His bilingual in Spanish and English and is also skilled in Portuguese.
Mr. Vera holds a Masters of Science Degree in International Real Estate from Florida International University. He was awarded the FIU ULI Scholarship Award during his graduate studies. He also holds a Masters of Business Degree specializing in Finance from the University of Miami School of Business. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.
